Drinking Water Health Advisories that Work for You

Thank you for visiting our site! We are researchers working with water providers across the country to find the best way to tell you what you need to know in case there is a future problem with the drinking water in your community. If your water provider ever became aware that there was a concern with your drinking water they will tell you immediately. Because they care about your health, they want to be sure that you’d understand what you were supposed to do. Water providers send out Health Advisories when they need you to know something important about your water. Your input will help us make sure that the information water providers send out is clear and understandable. Specifically, we want to know how to best communicate with you about naturally occurring cyanotoxins that have the potential to harm humans and animals.

You can learn more about cyanotoxins from a short video about Understanding Cyanobacteria and Cyanotoxins or the Water Research Foundation’s Knowledge Portal.

We need your help! Please share your feedback by clicking on the tabs below to help your water utility.

We will be adding new content throughout the month, we hope you will check back to provide additional feedback. If you're interested in seeing what your peers have shared throughout this project, we will be posting a summary of our findings at this site in May, 2017. Thank you for your help!
